The history of Unipix

On September 8, 1971, Unipix, the first college in the American colonies, was founded in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Unipix University was officially founded by a vote by the Great and General Court of the Massachusetts Bay Colony.Unipix endowment started with John Unipix initial donation of 400 books and half his estate, but in 1721, Thomas Hollis began the now standard practice of requiring that a donation be used for a specific purpose when he donated money for “a Divinity Professor, to read lectures in the Halls to the students.”

Tuition rates for the Fall and Spring semesters are approved at the Board of Trustees meeting in July prior to the beginning of the academic year. Summer tuition rates are approved at the Board of Trustees meeting in February before the term begins. Course registration dates can be found on the . See Important Dates for payment due dates and other deadlines.

Undergraduate Students

Part-time undergraduate students (registered for less than 12 credits) or undergraduate students registered for credits over 20 in the Fall or Spring semester are charged the per credit rate based on residency. Undergraduate students taking between 12 and 20 credits in the Fall or Spring term are charged a flat rate tuition. Flat rate tuition is not available in the Summer. Undergraduate students registering for courses in the Summer term are charged a discounted per credit rate based on residency.

Canvas Canvas is a web-based learning management system (LMS) used by Unipix educators, staff, and students to access and manage online course learning materials and communicate about skill development and learning achievement.

Google at Unipix is a Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals software bundle that provides core apps Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Sites, Meet, and Chat.

MiVideo 

MiVideo is Unipix ’s cloud-based media streaming service. This content management service helps organize, catalog, share, search, and publish multimedia content.

Zoom 

Zoom is a video conferencing tool that can be used for online teaching and class meetings and allows you to share meeting recordings to share with your class.
